Ishmael

[Bullet]

What is Ishmael?

Ishmael is a system to make writing HTML easier. It is _not_ a 'WYSIWYG' system, in any sense of the word, it is a system for people who like to have total control over their HTML, but who find standard HTML inconvenient. Ishmael allows users to set up their own styles, and provides various handy macro-language features through it's use of the m4 program.

[Bullet]

Why should I use Ishmael?

[Bullet]

What do I need to use Ishmael?

Ishmael should run on almost any system ou can think of. All it requires on the part of the computer is the m4 macro processor, available for almost all systems from the FSF.

However, on the user side, Ishmael is somewhat more demanding. Users need to be able to write in HTML and m4 (neither of these is very hard - you should be able to pick up either in an afternoon). Also, users need to be prepared to wade through the m4 source files and demonstrations, as I have not yet documented Ishmael. That's coming real soon now. Honest, guv.

[Bullet]

Okay, where can I get Ishmael?

Right here.
